Our Story

Trusted to Make a Difference Confido Training Centre was born six years ago out of a clear recognition of a pressing need: "to truly make a difference in people’s lives". Founder Heidi Smit began by offering First Aid training in the scenic West Coast and Cederberg regions, driven by a deep passion to empower individuals with essential life-saving skills. As Heidi worked closely with local communities, she quickly realized the broader potential and necessity of expanding this mission to reach more people.

In 2022, after much reflection and prayer, Confido Training Centre was born. The name "Confido" means trust, a value at the heart of everything we do. It reflects both Heidi's trust in our Lord and the trust that Confido aims to build with every client.

Building Trust, One Life at a Time.

For the first two years, Heidi operated the business on her own, investing all her free time and resources to help it grow. It wasn’t always easy, but with dedication and grace, Confido began to flourish. In 2024, she was blessed with a team of incredible professionals who share her vision for making a lasting impact.

Lynette: A seasoned first-aider with years of experience in the ambulance services. Lynette is not only an expert in her field but a true pillar of strength, both in her unwavering professionalism and the support she provides to our team and clients. We met during my first aid training, and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. It’s been a privilege to work alongside someone so dedicated.

Matthys: A trusted partner from our days in the NSRI. His experience in training and steadfast support make him an invaluable team member.

Sam: Fluent in Afrikaans, English, and Xhosa, Sam joined us through Matthys and brings both skill and passion for helping others.

Martie: Introduced through a mutual contact, Martie’s dedication and friendship have seamlessly integrated her into the Confido family.

Hi, I am Matthys, I joined Confido Training because of a genuine passion for helping people stay safe and be prepared for emergencies. Lynette Cox

Hi, I'm Lynette Cox.
Heidi and myself know each other since 2005. I am a trained Ambulance Emergency Assistant. Have 15 plus years in experience with providing training to make a difference in others lives. I have joined Confido Training to keep on making a difference.

I have done some extensive rescue crew and lifeguard training with Matthys for two years 2021-2022 around the South African Coast for the NSRI in the most remote rural areas. In 2024 he introduced me to an opportunity to work together again via collaboration with Confido which is an opportunity I could not refuse knowing that both our passions are in contributing positively to health & safety of our communities, training and development of South Africa at large
